Description
Identity Theft/Fraud Issue
I received a notice from the Employment Security Department of WA requesting further info related to my supposed claim for unemployment benefits. Trouble is, I didn't file an unemployment claim. Someone obviously did in my name. I assume it's part of the ring I've read about that's doing this in WA. I've already replied to ESD to refute and cancel the claim. But I want to notify MIPD about the potential for identity theft, presuming this ring now has my SS# and potentially other personal info.
Please provide next steps for me. I'd like to get a police case number, which will allow me to file this issue with the credit bureaus and possibly also the FTC and IRS.
