The no parking, stopping or standing sign on SE 53rd Place and adjacent to SE 52nd Place needs to be replaced. This location is adjacent and on the north side of Island Park Elementary school. It was installed along with several others a few years ago. The location is next to the fire hydrant.  The sign was knocked down by equipment during the re-paving of SE 53rd Pl. The sign/post laid on the ground for several months until someone stole it from the post. Then someone stole the post a couple months later. \r\n\r\nThis is an extremely dangerous area before and after school because as many as 8 vehicles will try to park in the little spot next to and across the street from the fire hydrant virtually blocking traffic and narrowing it to one lane. Today, the first day of school, a child ran out from behind a tall vehicle and was nearly hit by passing traffic (me, fortunately I was barely moving) I'm pretty sure there isn't supposed to be anyone parked there anyway as it is within 15ft of a hydrant. The sign was already approved and installed...just needs to be replaced.
