Description
The trail that connects SE 82nd St and 81st Ave SE, just southwest of Lakeridge, is in a state of neglect since the fire at 8280 SE 82nd St in June of this year:
* Scattered debris from the fire remains on the trail itself
* The "Fire Line: Do Not Cross" tape has been left in place, preventing access to the trail
* Sticker bushes and weeds have overgrown several parts of the stairs
The property where the fire occurred is well secured, and the trail from SE 82nd St. to Lakeridge itself is open. Apart from the issues listed above, there is no apparent reason for this trail to remain closed.
If the trail itself is in fact unsafe due to aftermath of the fire, the City should consider appropriate signage. The flimsy fire tape has been torn and retied multiple times now and is not effectively restricting access.
