Cars often travel at relatively high speeds through this area, and the existing crosswalk does not appear to be noticeable enough to approaching drivers. On multiple occasions, we have already entered the crosswalk and had vehicles continue through without slowing or stopping, coming uncomfortably close to us. This has happened even when we are crossing with a baby stroller, which should make pedestrians especially visible.\n\nThe current conditions make the crossing feel unsafe, particularly for families with young children and anyone who may need additional time to cross the roadway.
