My husband, dog, and I were not yielded to tonight, when a Toyota careened past us and would have been seriously injured has we not been watchful. The flags are faded and are not sufficiently visible at night. They frequently collect on one side of the street, or are not always available for use. This has led to a pedestrian safety issue numerous times. A lighted walkway would be much safer, especially with the upcoming transit line station opening in the next year, which will increase traffic flow along 77th Ave, including cars, buses, as well as pedestrians.
