Description
The speed limit of 25 MPH is too fast on 88th Ave SE between SE 36th and SE 40th (neighborhood next to the mega block). We request a speed limit reduction to 15 MPH and addition of at least 1 speed bump between SE 37th and SE 40th. This is a heavy pedestrian street for school children (from the elementary AND the high schools), in addition to those attending events at the schools, Mary Waite swimming center, and the PEAK. There have been many near misses of cars vs pedestrians and/or pets over the past 20 years we have lived on this street, and has gotten worse since they blocked left hand turns onto SE 40th from 90th Ave SE (mostly traffic coming from the Shorewood Apartments).
